Westfield Female Student with Highest GPA Receives College Woman’s Club Academic Excellence Award

WESTFIELD, NJ (July 2025) — The College Woman’s Club of Westfield is proud to announce Gabrielle Flannery, a graduating senior from Westfield High School, as the recipient of its $500 Academic Excellence Award for the 2024–2025 school year. Gabrielle earned the highest cumulative GPA in her class, an impressive 4.320, and will be attending the University of Florida this fall to pursue a degree in Finance.

In reflecting on her academic journey, Gabrielle credited Westfield High School for cultivating a “positively competitive academic environment” that inspired her to challenge herself. She successfully completed nine Advanced Placement (AP) courses, beginning with her first AP class as a sophomore, and sat for all corresponding AP exams. Her dedication, drive, and love of learning earned her top academic honors while also balancing extracurricular involvement.

Gabrielle was inducted into the National Honor Society and was a member of both the Spanish Club and Community Service Club. Until her junior year, she was also a member of the WHS volleyball team, stepping back to focus on academics but continuing to cheer on her classmates from the sidelines.

“The College Woman’s Club of Westfield congratulates Gabrielle Flannery on her remarkable achievement,” said Alyssa Welsch-Rovito, 2024-25 CWC President. “We are proud to support and recognize young women who embody academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to their community. We wish Gabrielle—a new Gator—the best of luck in Gainesville!”

The College Woman’s Club of Westfield is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to empowering young women through higher education.
